View Full Version : are dmoz submissions broken?

a friend tried to submit a site. they got the standard "your submission is now waiting" page, but when someone actually goes to that cat the site isn't there..

I thought it was odd, so I tried myself, and the same thing happened. is there any reason why some sites aren't making it into the queues?

it takes awhile, depending on the catagory. might be 6 monts

I'm not talking about being accepted. I'm talking about it showing up in the internal queue..

You best bet is to pop over to resource-zone.com/forum/ and ask in the submission status forum (read the guidelines first) and they can check if it has been received okay.

resource zone seems to be having problems as well..

I didn't remember my pass, so I request that it be resent. email didn't come. so I tried to sign up again. no email, again.

just re-register and post in the same thread that you used before for any checks.

when you sign up, there's a confirmation email. it never gets sent, so you can't post..

Don't hold your breath.

They just told me that they only approve what they feel like and that is that.

No wonder DMOZ is filled with JUNK links and some 400,000 links which point to 404 pages.

Oh and they need to rename the project to "What Ever We Feel Directory Project" because it is neither a project any more nor open.

I don't know how specific I'm allowed to get, but I checked in the editor forum and I'm definitely not the only one experiencing this.. I guess "their staff is working on the problem"
