$1.99* Domain Names, Transfers and Renewals! with each and every new, non-domain product you buy -- no quantity limit! $1.99 reflected in your shopping cart at checkout. Some limitations apply.

There's your catch.

The catch is you can't transfer it over to another register. Is that right?

The catch is what I just posted. And no registrar can prevent you from moving your domain to another registrar as far as I'm aware, unless of course you sign some sort of agreement or something.

i think it just means if you decide to transfer it , you will need to pay a fee..

it says " CHANGE of DOMAIN NAME REGISTRATION
Free Domain Name Change of Registration Assign your domain name to another owner, right online. Free!

Incredible flexibility lets you divide off that domain name from your account into a new account created just for the new owner, and protecting your remaining domain names.

Ideal for domain name resellers! "

?? im confused

$2 for a .com
but I've never heard of that company and I believe in only Well Known companies
btw I think there is another catch ... the Renewal fee will be high :p

"Now over 2.1 million register ed domain names"

How can it be? It should be a well known company in that figure...

heh i found this in at namePros.com trying to find an reveiws..

by hostingdude himself
You can go to ICANN's website and file a complaint agains DomainsNext. We (www.HostingDude.com) recently had to file a complaint against Moniker to get them to release a name. The little nickel-and-dime registrars that have been spawned by the big bucks they can make grabbing expired names and splitting the commissions with Pool.com are frequently complete horses-bottoms about releasing a domain name.

We found that just by filing our complaint we got action the next day from the registrar who wouldn't contact us or release our domain name. Hope this helps.

Hello BondGamer,

Were you able to get your name out of the ItsYourDomain reseller DomainsNext yet? ItsYourDomain is the very worst at releasing names as they make you notarize a form for each domain.

They do not follow ICANN policy however, ICANN cannot make a registrar transfer your domain away. There is a policy in place to assist with this and the gaining registrar needs to send a direct request to the losing registrar to make this happen.

Hostingdude, the problem with your name was that you did not follow our/Moniker.com's transfer out policy. Our security measures prevent unauthorized transfer out requests and all we require is an email from the admin email on file to release the domain name so that you receive a message from the system. This was explained to you and you finally did send this message so your name was released....ICANN had nothing to do with it. This policy places Moniker.com as the only registrar to not have lost a domain to theft.

BTW, we are one of the top 3 fastest growing registrars in the industry, managing more than 550K domains, obviously not the "nickel and dime" registrars you reference above. Although we are a Pool expired name partner, which helps our customers acquire names that they desire, it is a very small part of our business.

Take Care.

Domains cost $6 to register, at least .com anyway. Some people own some sort of referral accounts were they can get the domains as low as that. Any website offering domains cheaper than that without a catch is a simple scam.

Looks to me like this guy is just a reseller for GoDaddy/Wild West reseller. The prices and information is all the same.

I have been using hostingdude.com for 2 years, and they are great. The $2 domain refers to a bonus when you sign up for any of their other fee based services. For example: Sign up for a hosting account for $20.99 per month, and get a domain name for $1.99. It's not a hoax, it's just a smart way to retain new customers.

The only problem I have had with them (is actually happening right now). Some of their servers are down, and 2 of my sites cannot be accessed. I am a little bummed about it, but their support staff assured me that by the end of today, things will be fixed.

by the way i was wondering have you guys ever heard of netfirms.com ? they offer $4.95 domain registration. how in hell they offer that cheap? i dont think they are offering anything like "buy the horse get the cat for free"!! they are offering only domain registration for that cheap!

i have gone through their site and figured the only catch is: "There is a limit of five (5) $4.95 domain names per customer.
Additional domains will be charged at $9.95" and the renewal fee is $9.95

but still arent they cheap??
* i am not affiliated with them and i was dumbfounded when i figured their adsense ad!

after knowing that i was wondering if they allow free url transfer to godaddy? my plan is to buy 5 domains from them and transfer to godaddy or sedo...but if only they allow free transfer then ill think about giving them a shot.
