View Full Version : 1&1 Domain Transfer Out of registrar???

I have a few domains with 1and1 and I know if you try to transfer a domain into 1and1 they require you to fax them some form of identification. Will they require you to fax them identification if you transfer a domain out of 1and1? 1and1 can be a real hassle sometimes.

Hey I also looked for this information today, I want to transfer my domains from 1and1.fr to godaddy.

I had 3 domains at 1and1 and was able to transfer to Godaddy without incident. Meaning no faxs, ids et cetera.

I think I am going to transfer a domain as well. I will reply once I do so.

Also, is canceling a domain any harder than transferring? I have a bunch of useless domains that I do not need anymore, and want to cancel them (before they get renewed, and I get stuck paying!).

For canceling a domain I just make sure it is marked do-not-auto-renew. I think I remember this option somewhere in the 1and1 control panel. Although I hated their admin their tech support was always great- try asking them.

A do-not-auto-renew option ? Thanks for the info, I would have need to know that earlier. I also hate their customer support. They renew 3 domains of mine without notice. I emailed them several times to get refund, I could even have prevent the payment to be executed with my bank.

Now they add a new point in their FAQ : they send email 42 days before renewals. But of course that wasn't the case at the time mine were renewed.

I am talking about 1and1 France. They also say on their websites they will refund all the months that are not used. But I only had 3 "domains" package, paid for the year. So they don't refund anything since there is no hosting monthly fees.
