Amazon Text Links Agains Adsense TOS

I know that you cannot place relavant text ads that are consider competitor together with adsense in a page. Does amazon text links included on this prohibition?

I would guess not. Because with Amazon you have to provide the keywords, G tries to find them out for you automatically. So the Amazon ones are as relevant as you want them to be whereas G's ads are as relevant as their industry leading technology can get them to be. So IMO these ads are not competing. I think that direct competition on-page is what the T's & C's are trying to avoid.

But why not ask G?

You should ask G. I did ask them about putting some direct response coupons on my page along with adsense ads and they said ... no ... no. I think what matters is the look and feel of those text ads. Embedded in the text in a natural sentence is most likely okay but in a block to emulate adsense would be a no - no.

It's an affiliate program. Direct Response runs its. Here is a sample of some coupons from the Direct Response program.

I was hoping to use some coupons & adsense where its makes sense.

They already answered my query:

I understand you would like some clarification on our competing ads
policy. To be more specific, we do not permit Google ads to be published
on web pages that also contain what could be considered competing ads.
This would include all content-targeted ads as well as text-based ads. We
do allow affiliate or limited-text links, but we do not allow text-based
ads that either directly mimic or attempt to be associated with Google
ads.

Our intent with this policy is to be as fair to our advertisers as
possible and to maintain the integrity of the AdWords and AdSense
programs. This means limiting the other types of ads that AdSense
publishers display along with our ads.

If you are still uncertain as to whether the links you described in your
previous email would be acceptable, please feel free to respond to this
email with an example so that we can review it for you.

Please feel free to reply to this email if you have additional questions
or concerns.
