Hi.

I was just curious on how long it took people to get their websites showing up for their keywords in google when starting a site from scratch.

I know this obviously all depends on SEO and links but I was just curious as to some figures.

I started seeing search results trickling in from Google after about 30 days. Slow at first, and then a huge increase after about 90 days.

It also depends on keywords for the site. High traffic ones are harder to get listed on first few pages so no real traffic until you do.

If you get listed on a site that has good rank and is spidered alot site can show up for some keywords fast. I have seen site listed for some keywords in a week and others take a month.

Took me just over a week to get on the second page for my key word phrase and about 30 days to start ranking on the second page for the root words that get the bulk of searches.

Four days. It started as a trickle, and very slowly has been building from there.

Was it a niche term or did you just get loads of links?

I thought google put new sites in the sandbox?

It usually takes me about week, sometimes quicker depending on the competition and subject matter.

It took me about a month. For some it takes less for some more time, but depends on the SEO.

If the site was already indexed your keywords would rank as soon as possible if it is well optimized with your targeted keywords.

It depends on a number of factors.....

I've had some included within a day. But...it generally can take up to a week. To move the process along faster, make sure you include the link to your site in places like your DP signature. :)

Most of my new sites get indexed in 4 days, i have had one site that came straight in at number 1 for a particular keyword the had 170,000,000 result on G, didn't last for long, i have started link building on that site and it went to PR2 quickly but is now on about page 3, even though it was on page 1 for several weeks it didn't get that much traffic. before you do any link building etc do some keyword research to see what people are actually searching for.

Book mark, Tag and Ping, get a few links from high PR pages - do these three and your site should be indexed in the major search engines in less than two days.

Want to rule the top pages, it takes a lot more effort, time and strategy :).

About 20 days for it to reach the 2nd page. I hope it grabs the No.1 spot soon. :)

if its a new domain it can take an age - usually up to 3 months tho i have heard of sites getting included in 24 hours... i think its just how quickly your site gets listed on high pr sites is all... try craiglist as a good and easy starting point that might actually drum up some sales as well :)

I am experiencing this with my new free game online (http://www.gamesonline4free.net) site

About a week after launch I got to see traffic from Google,
And that was as soon as Google crawled about 70 pages out of 2300 of the site.

I have lots of backlinks pointing to the domain with the right keywords (games online free etc), but also lots of related searches are done daily on this subject.

Competition is big but I am getting on the 7+ page of the results for some specific games (which are less competitive subjects) but still since lots of searches are done I am seeing some traffic myself.

Thanks, but what does the bookmarking, tagging and pinging do?

It takes my polls about 5 days to start showing results, and there is over 4,500 polls. Getting hits on lots of keywords. Before poll 1 started getting hits though it took about 5-6 months.

Depends on the site.

One site I got some from the beginning that steadily increased until i did some SEO optimization and bam 300% increase in different search keyword hits overnight.

My giants blog is a month and half old and i almost get none or i do get zero from google cause im competing with some high value sports sites.

I am running 3 website and when you start to push for it it takes 3 to 6 months to see the results.
For example you can type tax refund in google uk and you will see that www.sos-taxes.com is now on the first page after months on page 2. I recently added few more links so it should rank higher very soon

If you really push it, it could take a lot less than that !!
