can u tell me how to build a site with links

i have forum like DP and i have PAGE RANK 4, i want to have at least page rank 6

can u tell me if its good to excange links with sites who have page rank 5 or 4, i have 25.000 uniqes at day

and why are backlinks so important

and what about content

Yes, exchange with them.....for additional backlinks....

Links are important 'coz it really affects your popularity in terms of links...The more you have quality related links the chances your site will become popular... Then the chances your site will have high PR...:D :D

To reach pr 6 you need to have backlinks from many pr7 ,pr8 sites.

What i have read backlink from lower pr sites is also good for your site.

Getting more quality links by exchanging links with related site can help you improved your PR. You can also get links by directory submission, blogging and forum posting.

It's good to have links from all page ranks including 0.How old is your website?Is it listed in DMoz?

Those links are basically votes for your content. Google has "devalued" reciprocal links, when you link to a site that links back to you, neither of those pass much PR value. One-way links that don't come from sites that sell links are seen as endorsements for content.

If you think about it, GoogleBot is a software program; it's not smart enough to know the difference between good and bad content. A lot of humans can't even do that. So they use a different method, that computers are capable of.

I certainly agree with w3bmaster & Forrest. Building one way links is far more beneficial than building reciprocal links. Google especially gives a lot more weight to your site when you build one way links.

Link exchange and one way link is good specially if the site is related to yours , A good quality link will earn you points. which is need to get a high PR.
