I don't know what the averages are. But I am near where you are Jeffery. Here is a post where you can see the total weight of the network - about 1MM.

So you can figure out the % of times your ad will show. All I can say I thought my number was low but I am moving up nicely for a couple of competitive key words - not sure if it is all the network but I feel like it is helping. Haven't had time to research all of my backlinks lately but I have seen a couple of links due to the network.

The weighting system is a formula based on a variety of things, including popularity of the site, how many pages you offer to the ad network for space, how many other ads you run on your pages, etc.

Yes, I saw that, but I was referring to more specific info. In any case, I suppose it doesn't really matter as I am averaging only 40 page hits a day. (It's a new site) One other question- the site has (potentially) 100,000+ pages, are all of these generated pages counted for the ad network?

One of the reasons for asking was that I "Never" and I do mean "Never" see my add.

I was thinking maybe my base weight was so low that I would only see it once in a blue moon. However, it appears that isn't the case.

I do see a "Blank" ad every once in a while. I wonder if that is mine. Maybe I goofed something up.

Do you mean you don't see your ad on you own page? Probably network has been set up so that the ads you define are not shown on your page. That would seem logical to me. Is this true Shawn?

Check Yahoo with the link:http://www.yourURL.com/ and you should be able to see if there are any ads pointing to the world with it.

As far as yours being blank, no... that's unrelated. Worst case scenario, is if you didn't have any ads to display (like they weren't enabled or whatever), a default "Digital Point Solutions" ad is served.

Well, I did a test on the ad server where I pulled 1,000 ads. Of those ads, your ad was in there the expected number of times based on the weight. So they definitely are being served.

Also, if you just went live with the ad network, it might take a few days for the ads to be fully deployed. Since there is a server-side caching system, everyone requests one new ad per hour, so until you have been in there over 100 hours, it's not going to be fully deployed for it's weight on the sites that were already live.

I wasn't worried about the system. I have great faith. I was more concerned that I messed something up because of the way I changed my ads. I kept seeing that "Blank" ad and thought for sure I was the culprit.
