The key words here are "on and off", KTHXBYE.

It's back? I may want to get a domain. $14.99 for 5 years (or whatever) is pretty good!

Yeah I picked up two domain names for five years for $14.95.. yahoo does not have as much user friendly features as godaddy but at that price who cares! All I need to know is that I can change my dns servers so that it redirects to outside hosting and it does so I am happy!

So no catches at all?
I mean, do you get full dns control, can you transfer out when you want, etc...
Thanks.:)

Any other catch other than this? I'm interested but afraid there might be fineprints i cant see.

I bought two domains.. though you need to do them in seperate transactions. I have changed the name severs but the domain name is still loading the yahoo page.. but I have email them and they are looking into the problem.. I think I have to "cancel" my account with them which means not having the domain control panel at my disposal so can not change any settings on domain name so that the domain name points to a outside host but will wait and see for their response.

I have two domains with yahoo and both of them points to an outside host. You don't need to "cancel" your account to be able to do that.Just wait for them to propagate.

Just after I got the email stating that there had been a reply to this thread I checked the two domain names and they now are pointing to my server... Yahoo just takes a lot longer then other doman registrars.

Yahoo is the worst registrar. Their support is horrible.

I just registered one domain at godaddy and then saw this thread and registered a second domain with Yahoo. Godaddy was more than twice as much even with coupon.
But the Yahoo console/admin seems to be altogther too slow. I set up DNS servers at Godaddy within 5 minutes of registering, and expect from previous experience that all will be propagated by tomorrow morning.
Yahho is telling me I have to wait 24-48 hours before I can do anything, so I'll have to wait just to put in the DNS names and then wait again till that change goes into effect. Not very timely

I registered a couple with Yahoo last year. I had a question having to do with the email server or something...I forget exactly.
I literally spent hours combing yahoo for information, any domain controls were buried deeply as if they want to make sure you don't change the dns from their small biz thing. Email support took over a week between questions.
If I ever had a domain problem I sure wouldn't want to deal with Yahoo. Time is nearly up on those 2 domains and I'll be moving them. I dread the roadblocks they will through up against that procedure!
