One of my ST members just purchased from a site called msgtag dot com. I had never heard of it. I had a look and the idea is that you are alerted whenever your email is opened. A very handy thing to have, especially when email marketing.

I know this can be done by imbedding an image that is read from my server so I can track when the image is loaded, but it failes when mail clients block external image requests.

Does anyone know if msgtag works differently?

No it works the same way. From About.comMSGTAG inserts a small tag line including an image located at MSGTAG's servers.
