I'm trying to get less obsessed with Google, PR and their whole don't-be-evil-just-be-a-monopoly game. So I'm wondering what competing metrics are out there to PR that are as readily available and could provide a much-needed balance to our work as webmasters. It seems like there's a real opportunity to bundle together lots of competing non-PR metrics into something almost as interesting as PR that would give us something other than Google to focus on. A "social network rank" would be pretty cool, for instance. So what else is out there? Basic requirements are: free, easy to find, updated regularly, and covering lots of websites. That should narrow the list down a bit :)

Making a 'webmasters' ranking wouldn't really do anything to help the issue...as all the visitors will still be going to google to find your site...

The Page Strength Metric Of SEOMOZ is the closest thing I know off. It takes into account lots of other factors than Just PR and combines them to make an assesment of a site. The only problem is most of the time data are broken:(
Please find it HERE (http://www.seomoz.org/page-strength/www.pagerankluck.com)
