I really thought the Indians would do it this year but I guess losing 6 out of your last 7 kind of puts a cramp in your playoff aspirations. With that said anybody but the Yankees of the Red Sox would get my vote.

Rowland should have been able to get that bunt down in the 9th inning. That was a very poor effort, especially since the main problem was mental. He gave away his bunt when the pitcher threw over to 1st...

It's too bad about the Yanks. Who is getting fired for their failure to win it all this year?
ROAR
Oct 13th 2005, 9:25 am
I appreciate your warm feelings about the Yankees. Mel Stotlemeyer, the pitching coach, has effectively told Steinbrenner to shove it. I would not expect to see him in pinstripes again.
Cashman, the GM, is no longer under contract, so he can not be fired.
Torre could get the ax, under contract for another 2yrs and 12/13 million. The Boss wants sweet Lou back. I want Sorianno, Pettitte and El Duque.
Torre should walk---doesnt need the money...the team is a mess and he has a lot of grief. Why would you possibly put up w. this crap?
The Yankees have reverted to the team they were in the 80's. Win a lot of games, but never when it matters. Spend, spend, spend w/o thinking of the concept of team.
The whole reason the Yankees were dominant for the better part of a decade is directly attributable to Steinbrenner's suspension from baseball for a couple years. During that time, Gene Michael -the GM- allowed the young talent to develop...Jeter/Posada/Rivera/Pettitte/Williams...made a few astute trades...and avoided transactions that made more sense for the New York Daily News or Post than putting together a winning club. Its great Steinbrenner spends his money freely, he should really go back to pasture.
Web Gazelle

I don't really have any warm feelings for the Yanks, I am a Blue Jays fan and will always be. Chris Carpenter is part of the reason I am rooting for the Cards. I never did agree with the Jays letting him get away. Imagine what the Jays could have done if they had him in the rotation with Halladay.

Does your girlfriend know that I'll be sleeping w/ her in your bed while I'm visiting Dallas?
Yeah we don't mind. It's good for her to sleep with other guys sometimes, because it makes her appreciate sleeping with me even more.

Yeah, I'll go easy on her just so she's not disapointed with you after I leave. I'll just 'take care' of myself.

You're a dude? I thought you were a chick this whole time. Screw that. Also, don't wear that thing I sent you either.
