ebay new payment rules started on october 1st. how are they treating you guys? i'm out of this aff.program and for now and just wondering if they still pay you for any bids(unsuccessful bid) and how much? Did they change the price of active registration for USA only? what eabout Australia?12$ as earlier?

The new terms only affect eBay US (not Australia or any other country). They do not pay for loosing bids any longer.

I'm using CJ, where I'm earning $12.00 per registration.

How do you like AzoogleAds?

I'm starting to like this new ebay payment system ... My reports are filling with 100's of $.08 (lowest) to $7.15 (highest) "Winning bid" entries ... I can see a big yo yo of reversals with this system!

If nothing else, it's interesting to watch the winning bid commissions. My top one for yesterday was a $135.14 commission (only at the 40% base). :) Wish they were all like that.

Nice! It would be interesting to see what the auction was for.

Would have been less if it was a vehicle, but since it was a "part/accessory"... :)

How did you find out what auction that commission was related to? CJ stats or your own?

I can't find it on CJ.

Tip of the day: (heh)
You need to export the data. In the order ID field, the 2nd item (separated by semi-colons) is the eBay Auction ID. :)

YAY! Thank you very much. :)

Just wondering .. do you export your data and .. umm manipulate it to show you some cool stats? or just export to get stuff they don't show you?

I have some cool charting functions. ;) I also keep all my data in a MySQL database (getting close to a gig worth of data).

Also, I got a winning bid yesterday that beat the other one I listed. :)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8340937642

Someone bought 100 of those things for $460 each. So I got a $147.72 base commission. End of month PIs (70%) means I actually made $258.51 for that one winning bid. heh As a whole, I'm averaging about $1 per winning bid (40% base commission). Would be pretty neat if they were all $100+ hahaha

i know everyone is tight lipped about their ebay sites, but are these content sites with that junky ebay javascript box?

or are these ebay site built on feeds similar to aws?

or neither??

I think with this new feature, ebay is trying to compete with Bitpass.com. Ebay is so far behind when it comes to selling digital goods.

Use the ebay developer api to get feeds. I was up until 3:00am last night writing this site last night based on Shawn's previous auto sale:

Guess now I have to write a coin collection one!

Well... I havent sold any car parts ;) but overall I'm very pleased with the increase in commissions through the percentage program.

As for "what types of sites", I have blocks like this all over the place: http://www.selfstartersweeklytips.com/jennifer.htm (this is just an example page to show site owners what the block looks like). You arent allowed to use the affiliate developer tools to display your own auctions on your own site through your own affiliate link... so I give ebay'ers that have their own website the code to promote their auctions through their site.

Did that make sense?

I also use it on some of my own affiliate sites. Like this one, for example: http://www.corkitup.com .

(I'm a dart player - play in local league - so that "affiliate site" is no secret :p lol)

Careful of that URL Lynn, Ebay took away $800.00 in commissions a few months back because I used the word ebay in the url.

You can use the word ebay in the URL, just not the domain/sub-domain.

Guess I was penalized because of using ebay in my subdomain (which I was). The first condition of the TOS:

(1) eBay Trademarks. You will not use in your domain name or URL (specifically, any term before the third "/" of your URL) ...

Did really notice the writing between the brackets

Shawn, how many registrations do you have under you, or is that against the rules...or rude. I'm just interested...

digitalpoint
Oct 9th 2005, 2:13 pm
What do you mean how many under me? How many have I gotten since the beginning of time?

MattEvers
Oct 9th 2005, 2:38 pm
umm, since the beginning of time, and those you get a percentage of the final bids from. I know I got about 30 registrations under me, and I hardly have any commission from bids, much less those huge bids. I would suspect you have quite a few.

digitalpoint
Oct 9th 2005, 2:44 pm
You don't get paid on all bids forever for your registrations. You get paid on winning bids for people that clicked your link within 7 days of them making the bid (regardless if they already have an eBay account or not). So kind of irrelevant how many registrations I've had historically. :)

MattEvers
Oct 9th 2005, 2:46 pm
I thought you got like ten cents or something for all bids, back when I did it last year. Maybe I misread it. Maybe that's why I don't get any commission. :D

digitalpoint
Oct 9th 2005, 2:47 pm
Nope... payment for winning bids are not tied to people you signed up. You get paid for winning bids for anyone that clicks your link within 7 days of making the bid.

MattEvers
Oct 9th 2005, 2:54 pm
I made about 500 bucks for registrations a while back, but havne't messed with it much lately. I would think eventually registrations would slow. I've heard that someone news goes online every second or something, but it still suprises me when people get hundreds of registrations per month.

the cut from $20 to $12 is such a killer!

MattEvers
Oct 9th 2005, 3:04 pm
Even more so is the change from bid to winning bid. I bet that cuts down the commission paid. Is there a time length they have to win a bid by, or do they have unlimited time for you to get paid?

digitalpoint
Oct 9th 2005, 3:07 pm
If they place the bid within 7 days of their click you get paid (if they win it), regardless of when the auction closes.

Ebay Australia are currently offering 28 AUD about 21 USD for new signups via Com.J, sounds very good to me , problem is payment as far as I can see is only Checks to Aussies which incur cashing fee of around 40AUD for US checks (with Bank NAB )last time I tried this with a British check at least, interested if others have found a work around , thanks

It depends on how many ACRUs you drive per month...

http://affiliates.ebay.com.au/how-affiliate-program-works/compensation/ Ranges from $12-28 US.

Cj can send you cheques in Australia dollars.

Commonwealth Bank cashes foreign currency cheques for only $10, anyway.

I just joined the Azoogleads program and I am promoting ebay through them. I was wondering what is the typical time it takes for ARCUs to post to your account? I am seeing clicks right away but I have no money yet... Which is VERY strange since I know I should due to my history with CJ.

Any thoughts or ideas??

Thanks for your help...

Shawn, did you write your own application to pare the data from the downloaded report and throw into the db or is there something readily available?

I would like to view and access that information easier but I just don't have the desire to write the application so I Usually just copy and past the item number to check out what auction was won. But that a pain.
