I didn't know about this until today when I tried to investigate some odd Yahoo! search results where the listings were on the 1st or 2nd SERP for some search queries that returned xxx, xxx, xxx results (major keywords) and those listings included different (but correct) title and description than their landing pages (somewhat like custom title and description). And also I did not notice any special or "so many" backlinks to those sites. So digging into Yahoo! services and products I found this page: http://searchmarketing.yahoo.com/srchsb/ssp.php?o=INVALID&b=0
And I think that would be the best explanation for SOME (I know there are "other" ways) of the odd results on Yahoo's top SERPs.
Search Submit Pro lets you create titles and descriptions that are displayed as algorithmic search result listings. The program can automatically generate result listings that best match user queries. You can update the information frequently, independent of changes to your Web site.
It's all about money Search Submit Pro is typically for customers with search marketing budgets of $5,000 per month or more, or advertisers who submit more than 1,000 Web pages to the program.
