Nah I do it all the time to check where the link goes

It will show up as a click but you won't get any income from it.

It would be ludicrous for Google to punish people because a link was clicked by an owner. The owner doesnt have control over who uses their computer so they also dont have control over anyone who wants to click 1 of the links.

I'm gonna turn you in Boogle and Weirfire. you can expect the FBI crashing through your door within the next 20 minutes. Say goodye to your wife and children while you still can. You will be rotting in jail for the next 4 decades.

It was nice knowing you, sorry to loose you while you didn't even get to the 250 post mark.

DP will never be the same again.

OK, then it's be one of those annoying traffic wardens giving you a ticket. It doesn't take much to be deported to Guantanamo Bay though. Fraudulent clicks could be seen as a terrorist act. Start ringing a few top lawyers.

If you want to be safe, write a letter with a blank cheque enclosed to the company that you ripped off and send a copy of it to Google. Promise you will never do it again (and that you realise that if you had the toolbar installed in the first place, this would have never happened because of G's excellent pop up blocker). To keep G as friends you could also consider becoming an adwords advertiser and bid 10 pounds on * (any word) and direct the traffic to G's homepage.

In reality, I wouldn't worry.

Google logs your IP when you sign up with them and every time you log on to check your balance so that if you ever click an advert from that IP address the click is just noted as the adsense users click and doesn't gain any revenue.

I also live in the UK and fortunately enough in Scotland at that!! As if the FBI can do anything to me anyway!! The very fact that the term FBI has been written in this thread will have them looking at this post...

Seriously though it really don't matter if you clicked on your own ad!

Am i screwed now??? :( :( :( :(While it is highly unlikely that much, or anything, will come of it, it is probably wise to send G an email explaining what happened, and--if you can recall--what you clicked on and when.

If nothing else, that makes you look like an especially "clean" site operator.

where is the site poping up the popup? i am studying how to force popups even though there are popup blockers. i think it is a good trick you may later use.

i remember some crack site always asks to CLICK yes for some spyware before you can really download. i nevered clicked, so i never knew if i really clicked, will the alert window really go away.

As long as you don't make a habit out of clicking your own adws, it's alright.
