With AdSense change to allow multiple instances of thier script on the same page, I've gone ahead and done that. But now I have question about the Impressions column on the AdSense report.

Oddly (or perhaps not so oddly) when I added multiple instances my page impressions increased by about 1/3. This would match up with the sites I added the multiple scripts too.

Say for example I get 5,000 a day for 5 channels, each channel being a seperate site. Each site gets 1,000 impressions a day. I add another banner to one of the sites, and now my total shows 6,000.

So I'm thinking Google counts each script call as a page view. So a single page with three AdSense banners results in 3 page impressions on your AdSense report.

Any thoughts....?

that was what I assumed would happen, but someone in this forum suggested that isn't the case- I haven't tried multiple ads personally yet.

That's my understanding of it too.

We can confirm from our stats that this is correct.
If Google only has enough ads to fill two ad units, it will count as 2 impressions (the one without ads will NOT count).

Yep, my stats show increased impressions because of the multiple ad blocks.
