on espn, an announcer says jokingly "you can get this on blah blah blah.com. "This domain name was unregistered and i just registered it. Is there anything i should do with this domain or did i just waste my money?

Is it getting any traffic? Quickly throw up 1-2 pages of content and some ads. Perhaps a "As seen on TV" logo?
It is rare that this happens as lawyers at most networks and production companies require writers to obtain any domains that they mention before airing. Conan O'Brian said a ficticious domain name and later said that he got in trouble with the network lawyers.

Hopefully you threw something up on that page asap. More than likely a bunch of people visited that url within minutes after it was broadcast and most will never return.

Park it at sedo or namedrive and see if it makes any revenue with typo traffic.

I wouldn't say its a waste. Do they repeat what was broadcasted a lot? I'm sure some visiters will be sent to the domain.. but not a TON unless it was highly controversal or funny......

Domain investment is never a waste! Its only $8 - $14 and you can always use it to park a site or establish a site which you can sell after!

Was it an easy to remember domain? Was it a dot com?

stephenferaca.com
It's someone's personal name and you bought the domain to capitalize and make money off his name. It would be considered cyber-squatting and he could come after you for the domain name and, less likely, any monies that you made off his name.

This is technically cybersquatting, but the most you'll lose is prabably the doamin name.

Don't worry about cyber squatting issues until the domain is trademarked. Do let us know how it do on sedo.

I would ask how the traffic was, but i checked myself. I guess most of it is from DP users taking a look:p

Ever thought about online poker affiliate programs? They normally offer very large commissions.
