i have yahoo messenger 8.1.0.249 when ever i try to enter a room i get this chat error signing in to chat took loger than expected. please try again later. i have windows vista premium home i have java platform standard edition 6 version 1.6.0-rc build 1.6.0-rc-b99 java is working.

Yea it often happens. Are you behind a firewall? If yes, then it'll happen even more.

i can now get in to the rooms but now i get this computer does not support the required audio compression format. my sound card is realtek high definition audio is there a fixes to this?

Did you try reinstalling yahoo from scratch and does vista recognize your audio hardware properly? And you sure firewall not block any of the ports required for yahoo to do its audio thing?
