Buying Domains through whois.co.uk

Got an email from a friend today who decided to buy the UK version of his domain through whois.co.uk. All went swimmingly but...
a) They still offer the domain for sale
b) Other sites still offer the domain for sale
c) He can't access the domain
d) They won't respond to his emails etc

The steps you take are to go to whois.co.uk, search on a domain name, the list of those taken comes up and it appears all very normal. Click on Next and you go to order.internic.co.uk and from there it must seem legit because otherwise he would have backed out.

Any ideas on the "next steps" to resolve this issue?

sometimes it takes upto 48 hours for the isp's worldwide to update thier dns cache, thats prob why you experienced this issue in the first place. maybe tring to wait it out?

48 hours is fair, if the OP is still waiting after 3 years then they may need to contact the support desk ;)
