increasing traffic techniques are pretty much the same for all search engines: good content and quality backlinks.

Put your site on top of Yahoo SERP with your targeted keywords which you think can give you higher traffic.

The first step is to make sure that your blog is indexed in yahoo, that it actually appears in the serps. (site:yoururl to check)

If not, then you have to submit your site.

Yahoo loves title tags, make sure you have good title tags!

I don't know why my Yahoo seems really slow to pick up new sites and pages lately. It takes ages before I start receiving traffic from Yahoo search engine users.

Your blog needs hundreds or even thousands of inbound links from websites that have indexed by Yahoo and related to your blog.

If you wear multi colored hats, you can try comment spamming. I heard it's still working for Yahoo ;)

I beg to differ - I have done all of this and have not gotten a single visit from any of those things.

I'd like to know the answer that is for sure. My site ApopularityContest.com gets about 100+ hits a day from google, and about 3 from yahoo. Funny thing is Yahoo has indexed more pages from the site than google has.

will this help me break the top ten?

I'm top ten in google for a certain phrase but no where near it in yahoo and receive junk for traffic from there.

Would like to rank higher?

The real key to attracting more tageted traffic is to rank within the top 5 in the SERPs for the big three search engines for your primary keywords/phrases.

You can also advertise on high profile websites that have thousands of visitors a day in hope to receive extra site traffic.

Do keyword research when writing your blog articles. Put the top performing keyword that bests describes what your article is about at the beginning of the title. Look for page competition of less than 1,500 and a minimum number of searches of 100 in Overture. You will stand a better chance at ranking high on these types of terms.

Good content, quality backlinks , try the yahoo answer and question, and yahoo 360.yahoo.com/. You can post your blog to 360. Yahoo loves the title, description and keyword of a site.
