How to place ads in SMF forums.
I have tried the ad mods but it does not work on all themes.
How do we do that?

If you are using a custom theme you have to do the template changes manually.
Manual installation of mods (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=402)
Or take a look at this if you want to do it without installing a mod: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=153647.0

use the ad management mod (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=255), it'll handle any type of ad and place it pretty much anywhere you want it.

I think this mode does not display ads in other skins.

Thats why you have to do the theme changes manually, like with all mods.

There is a mod for it.
Just only have to do the template changes manually if you are not using the default theme.

Not true :P
All mods work with all themes, but you'll have to do the theme changes manually.
In the next version of SMF the package manager will try to install the mods for other themes aswell.

It was a nightmare adding mods to a new theme in SMF yesterday when I got my hands on it for the first time (switched from phpbb to smf). Just follow the resources provided by Diether, it will work.

Basically all mods should be working on default theme. You just need to modify each file if you're using another theme.

Hope that this new version will be out soon because it is a nightmare to change all the themes manually.

Yep it can be a drag but worth while modding your theme for the ad management
