The blue in the layout looks "off" I would use a different shade of purple instead.. maybe a darker one? Some gradients would make your site look less flat also.

I would stay with one or two color schemes, not with three. i would really recommand you to remove the blue.

Looks much nicer :) for your ads on the left you might want to remove the border and change the background to white for better blending ;)

Looks great.

Here's a tip for adsense - it will probably increase CTR on your ads as I've tested this on 34 sites and most saw an increase in CTR:

Make the Adsense background the same colour as your page (white).
Make the clickable link titles the same colour as the rest of the links on your page (I'd go for the pink you are using).
Leave the rest of the colours the same.

The idea behind this is that most users look to the left hand side of the page for navigation, if your ads look more like navigation and blend with the rest of your site then you will see an increase in clicks on your ads. It essentially helps prevent "ad blindness". Savvy net users are becoming more aware of Google's ad format and start to notice "traditional" Google ads, so the more you can blend them in the better.

I think you should buy your own domain.. And put adsense link unit into content after the first post.

cheers

Looks good, you should also chnage the link color of the ads to the same colour as the text in the ads.
