Hello,

I'm looking for the best place to purchase royalty free, copyright free clipart, that CAN be used for commercial purposes, in projects.

Most of the royalty free sites say that the products cannot be used for commercial products.

Anyone have suggestions?

I would start my search here (http://www.internet-search-engines-faq.com/web-page-graphics.shtml).

Hi Will,

Checked it out briefly, but again I noticed alot of the same issues with the clipart sites. The photo sites were great, but the clipart require non-commercial use.

Gotta love getting red rep'ed for tryng to help. :(

www.boxedart.com if you are using them for only your own websites. They don't let you use it if you're going to use it in client sites though.

Animations.com and Clipart.com has this information:

"(IX) Use the Images as a design element in electronic templates including Web site templates and e-greetings but NOT for software products that are intended for distribution or use by others. Electronic template use is restricted to 250 templates per year, must include a statement on the same page as the Content as follows: "Certain images and/or photos used in this template are the copyrighted property of JupiterImages and are being used with permission under license". Images used in an electronic template may not be used at a resolution higher than 72 dpi."

Prohibited Uses: You may NOT:
"Use the Images(s) in any downloadable format intended for multiple distribution including, without limitation, Web site templates, software products, e-greetings, etc."

I'm thinking of doing a certificate generator for students using the clipart. But I don't think that these sites allow this. Opinions? Ideas?

Ahh... I see. You want a distributable clipart library.

I don't know of any, other than there are a few open source graphics libraries. I believe they are somewhere at sourceforge, but it's been a while. I have a CD from manay software here, that's basically a burned CD of some open source art.

Other than that, you are best off commissioning an artist.
