hi all,

I need help for the internal linking for three of my sites. Let`s call them A,B and C. All three are related and they have between 15.000 and 30.000 pages indexed. I would like to have sitewide links to all of them (A links to B and C, B to A a and C....). For me it is important that the user is able to switch between sites on every point.
Now to my problem:
A frind told me that this is spamlinking because I create to many new links for each site at once. Is this true?
He also told me that it is better to link like this: A-B, B-C, C-A
I know that this linkstrukture is better for linkexchange but I would like to have sitewide links for the users. Is it realy so bad?
who can help me?

That debate has been going on for sometime (BTW I don't interlink my domains ;) ).

Here's an example of a network of high PR, high traffic sites that do "run of site" interlinking.

They rank #1 on most search engines for their respective areas:

www . boattraderonline . com
www . rvtraderonline . com
www . equipmenttraderonline . com

and so on. . .

why does this network doesn't interlink their sites?
for my sites is the interlinking important because the sites are related. what is wrong with interlinking?

Wiarus,

My point in posting the sites was that trader publishing has been doing "run of site" interlinking of high PR sites for years and they have not been penalized.

I don't do it with my sites because I'm paranoid.

You can read more on this topic here: http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum12/2588.htm

I think as long as you are doing it for the benefit of the user, it would be fine. Many corporate sites already do it, but i would suggest you not to overdue it upto a point where it looks more like the same has been done to influence search engine rankings.

(A links to B and C, B to A a and C....). practically for content-rich sites, I have seen this beneficial..

I have seen a network of 14 sites all of them linking to each other..
Minimal interal site linking is done here

these sites have more then 500,000 pages indexed in google each, within a timeframe of less then 6 months.
Isn't this wonderful ?

The main reason is the benefit of the user. If this has a good effekt for the engines it is good as well.

A lot of people scared me and told me not to link like this. I think it can't be wrong to build a serious network with content sites wich are related. Two of this sites are useing the same database. I just want to make sure that I don't do a big fault.
what do you think about it?

there's nothing wrong to inter-link a few of related sites. Many corporations are doing this with a network of their sites. Search engine will virtually trade those heavily inter-linked sites as one virtual site.

hi
A very important Tip and guideline to my firends.. Donot consider the short term gain.. I have suffered the problem on interlinking in my few similar sites. I was having one PR7 site and one PR4 site. Both of these were selling same product and we launched one more site which also sell same product range.

Now in order to get the advantage of indexing in google for new site and advantage of linking from higher PR site.. i interlinked all three site and for 2 months i saw good SERPs in google but soon after google update i was penalized in two lower PR sites and pages started disappearing from the google..

So friends plz be very careful when u interlink ur sites

Is it different if your 3 sites are on different hosts?

I have 3 which all show up with the same IP address. I suspect I was penalized in the last update because of interlinking.

I cried "foul" when I discovered they were all the same IP address, but no one semed to care at the host.
