Hi there

I never quite understand the value of Alexa and why so many people always refer to them

it was mentioned on a thread elsewhere that the person selling his site had 80k uniques and his Alexa stats were

for 3mo stat was > 96,460

are u able to correspond his 80k uniques with 96k from Alexa?

I thought Alexa was always associated to those who had downloaded the toolbar and the sites they surf?

Thanks

Alexa = not valuable .

Anyone can install alexa toolbar , make his pc work 24/24 on refreshing and visiting his site ...

they algorithm is not that good ... but still sometime it's used to take a fast view of the site , fast impression .

and webmasters like it :p

I just use alexa to see the record of the site.
It's just fun for me to watch my rankings going up and down .

Its kinda a good tool to compare how your sites doing against competition that has been around for awhile. The compatrative analysis is a good tool imo.

I am a Web Developer for a site with an Alexa ranking of 78,000, We rank in the top 10 for amost evey product that we sell. I have compiled a list of things that Alexa looks for when it evaluates your website. Alexa is a little bias, but getting a good Alexa rank will help your page rank with the major search engines and vice-versa. Check out the link below for more info
