Seomoz Page Strength Tool is Broken reason is I get PS2.5 last week it was PS4 (www.wamchu.com). Then I check PS of http://www.seomoz.org/page-strength/www.alivedirectory.com which also shows PS 4.5. I think it was Ps 7. Anyone else notice any difference.

I think it's "borken" because wwws.org is showing higher than usual. Last week, 3.5 ps a few days ago it was 3ps and now at 4ps.

It's a Fun tool.

Probably they are upgrading it.

With respect these tools are gathering data by ajax or similar transfer protocol methods and as such a multiple of Data Centers are trying to access data all at the same time, these factors plus many more factors is it any wonder that they have problems maintaining 365/24/7 100% Uptime

! Ask !

for Ask Directory (http://ask-dir.com/) shows PS 4.5 (http://www.seomoz.org/page-strength/ask-dir.com) the normal value, but this tool fluctuates a loot.

they are never accurate...

sometimes they show alexa not found

than say your site is not in Top 10 when its #1 for its keyword ...

i dont know if we can trust this tool now.

I don't see any change for my directory-except few days back it showed PR for the domain --and no PR for the URL. Now it is just the opposite:rolleyes:

http://seomoz.org/page-strength/www.pagerankluck.com

Also-- according to my thread for del.icio--I have many links from there--but it is showing only 6 links--which were done before the thread:( Most probably something is not working properly.

I apologize for the occassional inaccuracies. We do our best to have the tool pull data as accurately as possible, but many times the requests we make to sites simply don't return, even after several tries. In those cases, we show that the data wasn't obtained.

I hope that in the future, we can improve the tool even more.

c'mon rand, change the logo already! you got my email bwahaha

want the .psd file?

Rob

also, i have a suggestion for penalty.

say for example a site comes up with a wikipedia link. a check on the REAL page vs the CACHED page should be done.
if the link resides in cache and not in real page, there should be a SPAM penalty assessed to it.

don't make me have to write my own tool!!! I'll help if need be. :)

I don't think that is the best idea. While I understand your reasoning behind it, I think it would create a new kind of sabotage. In a short time, I believe you'd have more sites unfairly penalized than ones that were "guilty".

hmmm..... do we have any visibility on how the final pagestrength is computed? While it seems like many of us are using that as a reference, do we know exactly how the various parameters are weighted and accounted for?

The sites that the SEO Tool scrapes from are constantly changing, and making it more and more difficult to gather correct stats... that's just the name of the game when your scraping other site's data... expect it to never be 100% correct.

It is real easy to see where the problem is ..
Alexa Rank 0% No alexa data foundPretty strange considering it was 121,000 this morning.

So I dropped PS .5 because there was no Alexa data available.

It will be back tomorrow. :)

it gave one of my sites a PS of 6.5 but said no Alexa data not available, which is not true.

One of my sites keep changing from PS3 to PS5. This is too much of fluctuation.
