Usually , I see more phpld based directories than the ones using site-sift script . Just wondering if there are some specific reasons for this .

Because phpld is more popular,a lot of free templates for phpld,ect...
Personally I like both of them.

I like phpLD because there are so many free templates available for its different versions such as v.2.0,v2.1,v.3.06,v.3.1 Another good thing about phpLD is that various MOD available (some free and some at nominal fee). Last but not least point that david constantly working on phpLD script for giving us best all time.

Isn't it enough for directory owner :confused:

Both of them are excellent.If you have some budget, phpld is good choice; if you need free version, site-sift can meet you requirement

Although the phpLD free version 2.x can meet your requirements as well :p

It's all about the MODS. More people using phpld just turns into great mods so if you like to tinker with php it's the better way to go.

definately phpLD man ... its the most powerful directory script which exist at the moment. (Bunch of designs) ..

3.1 is the most recommended.

I like both.
phpld is easy to manage and lots of templates. but I just dislike more than 2 sponsor links on phpld templates.

Phpld is better because of the cool MODS and the great templates for phpld..

SiteSift is not on template based, This the only reason for low uses. Every SiteSift function available on phpLD and that is template based. So, phpLD got more popular ;)

PHPLD 2.0 works great for me. The other thing is the mods available that will make your directory more personal. Have a look at my directory in the sig.
