Hmm, I would split it up :) Just find the ones that are around the 1-4 dollar range, with the highest PR (on the page you will be submitting to). Also make SURE they do not have a "Standard" template. Generally if this is the case... the directory won't last and they won't donate time, money, and energy into the directory.

You might try using the bestoftheweb directory (sorry can't use links yet), they have a 60 day free trial for inclusion in their directory. Also the dmoz directory is the best one you want your site on from what I have read

It depends on the site you're submitting, if you post the url it would help to see if there's a suitable niche directory offering a good deal.

Gii costs just 25$ and you can get a PR4/5 page lifetime listing...
people spending much money on others way just for their ranking their site, and i think i have a guess that if you are looking on paid directory, then it will be Right Choice.
and hope you will get Better Serps, Better Rank.

If you're on a Budget you need to Get Links at a Bargain!
Why does it have to be a paid dir? Google doesn't care. I'd avoid paid Dir's all together if you are on a budget like that.. Before you do though I suggest you read this thread here. (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=261461) That being said I think you'd be best just doing link building. I know I have too much time on my hands but I put together a little plan for you.
A) signup for LinksArena $8 - If not; hold it for other deals like the ones mentioned below.
B) Pay that guy $5.99 who submits you to 200. He works I used him. CLICK HERE (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=243263)
C) Take the offer of PR5 Link 1 year ONLY $3!. CLICK HERE. (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=265212)
D) Spend 2$ on a cofree
E) Add yourself to 5 new directories a day for 1 week. Click Here (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=243263)
F) Buy some more cofeee and keep going.
That's how I'd spend my $20 and have some change left over if $20 was all I had. :D That being said I"d hold the rest of my money until another sweet deal comes along. There will be lots trust me.

With $20 to spend I'd look at Octopedia -- Links are $10 last time I checked and you can add upto 7 other deep links.

I'll get 3 PR4 links for you with $20:D
http://www.directoryguild.com --$5
http://www.piggydir.com --$3.99 (Home page PR4 --but there are some innerpages with PR4)
and as Saad said--

Go and get it and enjoy:cool:
