View Full Version : Anti-leech my links?

I have links on my site to pretty cool vids. i spend the time to upload them and make sure they are good. but then ten mins later i see my vids on another guys site and he is saying he posted it....


Its becoming a big pain in the ass and i need a way to protect my links.

I so far have thought of www.link-protector.com but you can see the link when u view the page source!

i thought of disabling right clicking but then they can still see it when they visit the link.

I need help! id apericate any insight! thanks!

There's just about no way you can hide your files from a determined enough leacher. If it's one person that's doing this you should go to court against them.

One option might be to use an rtsp server, one that does not allow http downloads. If that's possible

Use affiliate mask program to mask the URL. and then use the link protector website. That might work.

Not enough for a determined enough leacher. For example with a simple sniffer they can examine HTTP transfers and detect your url.

maybe he isnt determined enough and would rather find another site to rip off from.

Anti-leech won't help in this case. This is because it is not a hotlinking problem to begin with. If it were, I would recommend coldlink (http://coldlink.com/).

The real problem is one time theft because the user is taking a copy and reposting it. As long as they can get a copy as a legitimate browser, then it will continue to happen. The real solution in this case is to file a DMCA notice with him *and* his upstream provider. This will result in a takedown of the offending site. This presumes of course that you own the copyright to the material in question.

However, if you mean by "your vids" that you have found them elsewhere, and simply reposted them yourself, then they are fair game until the original copyright owner does something about it.
