nah ...

i'd rather use that money on 4 good PR sites and get a permenant regular listing instead of paying 299 for 1 year.

it should help but idk ... i just don't think u shud pay tht much unless u really think u'll get all of that back.

Better value is to distribute the same amount over a number of Directories

It doesn't hurt to be listed. It's a user choice due to the high cost. The listing is a great if you have the money to spend. IMHO.

I heared from another forum that yahoo gives preference
to the websites listed in their dir. So, i was hoping that someone
here might have a listing and can give us some feedback
on it.

Shoorly a link from yahoo should carry some weight and
not even to mention all the people searching their Dir.

Well, let see maybe there is someone out there that can give
us some good/bad feedback

i got my site http://www.paiddirectories.info included in yahoo free of charge as it could have stumbled by yahoo editor. As far as i know getting included in yahoo directory would greatly help in SERPS in google than just PR.

Getting accepted in yahoo directory either by paid/free truly shows your site is a trusted one.:D

You don't submit to Yahoo! Directory for the visitors. If you get any visitors per month, it won't be monumental.

It's a quality backlink from a trusted source.

I was just curious because i know from most dir. you dont get any

or any other highly paid ones

In almost all cases, Higher Quality Directories > Higher Price.

In Yahoo! Directory, you are not only paying for a good link, but you also paying for brand exposure of Yahoo's name and that just happens to be $299/year.

Everything comes with a price, the more well known, the more price is altered (+).

If you are looking for visitors, you are looking at the wrong thing. Search Engines are for visitors, Directories are for link building. You can't always get the best of both worlds.

Some people speculate that being listed in Yahoo! Directory gives you some authority in the Yahoo SERPS. But, regardless of that speculation, it's a quality link if you can afford it and I recommend it.

I have a site listed there (free listing) - I get some traffic from the directory, some backlinks (the site is also on the country versions of the directory) and of course pr... but I would not pay for that

I paid $299 to have my site listed in the Yahoo directory (my site is about celebrities and I publish gossips almost daily). Results:
- I got a PR6 in a couple of months (obviously I bought also other links, but not that many)
- I get about 20% of visitors from Yahoo! (note that I also add my gossips to Yahoo! MyWeb 2.0) - that's about 60-70 visitors per day

From my experience, the Yahoo! submission is well worth the 300 bucks...

HTH, cheers! :)

Yahoo is a VERY authoritative link and I purchased a link. It's a great addition for my site.

Interesting. I think if you want to get seroius bout anything you should start a company, throw 1000$ into it and run it ilke a business. If your doing this as a hobby ya 300$ is alot. but at the same time people!

IF YOU STOP DRINKING COFFEE EVERY MORN ON THE WAY TO WORK you could buy 2 listings.

Just my $0.02.

No I don't have one yet but I just started out. I think I will.

I just spent 30$ on breakfast for myself and my girlfriend... That would of been 10% of the initial deposit It's odd how everyone is so fast to waste money but always so paranoid to invest it!

Didn't pay anything for my listing, and I was at the top of my category for about 2 months. : )

Traffic from it was meh, definitely not worth the huge listing fee. I'm glad I got in for free.

From the pages I would be interested in the PR is 4.

What would be the difference between getting a standard PR4 link for $5 permanent?

If someone gave me the choice between listing my site in Yahoo, and all the directories listed in the top directories sites popping up everyday (including aviva, alive, ...) I would choose yahoo. I am listed in yahoo, get few visitors a month, the listing helped me a lot in google but not at all in yahoo.
For phpld/esyndicat directories, the only one I recommand is 2yi.net
