How the heck can one ad size pay more then another ?
Google says they serve the ads based upon performance, revalancy etc, if they have 10 high paying ads to show they show em, if they only have 3 they show 3.
It should not matter if your displaying text ads in a 300 x 250 medium rectangle or a 728 x 90 Leaderboard (which is what I always use.
Either format the ads will be the same and pay the same

I don't think ad size matters, payment depends on the ad's keywords. Do you have problems with your earnings?

payments depends on keywords and clicks and large rectangle get's more clicks then any other format , so large rectangle pays more :D

Not quite true. Large rectangular is big and it's hard to conceal from a visitor. Visitors are not stupid people. If they see the ad, they won't click. However, a smaller ads which is nicely incorporated into the content can bring much higher $$$ and CTR.

Yes, make sure the colors blend in with your website.

I was just wondering how the heck different sized ads could pay differently, I read in a few other posts that large block ads paid more than horizontal ads etc, and always thought this was bogus info.

no dear its my and several other adsense users exprience - large rectangle can be easy integrate into websites paragraph's so it gets more clicks, however main thing depends on websites contents - different websites have different expriences with different ad formats

Getting more clicks doesn't mean that the ad is paying more ;)

you are right but what about the following
2Clicks worth $5 each = $10
10Clicks worth $2 each = $20

I said that wrong, I meant to say that the size of the banner has nothing to do with how much you are paid per click
