It looks like there is a link update going on in the webmaster tools new links section. At least it apears that way. I noticed that the number of pages linked and the number of links to prior pages has increased tonight by a significant ammount. However, when clicked it seems to be the same number of links prior. So maybe they're in the process of updating.

For example one of my sites forums front page had three links prior. Now it says 129. However when clicked it's still at three. Something to keep an eye on in the coming days I guess.

I just checked and it's the same for all my sites in Webmaster Tools.

Yes, i see it to. Also i notice a list of external links for each page. That wasn't there before

Anyone have the actual links update or is it just the numbers? Mine still only has the numbers update but the actual links are the same as before still.

401 for main page yesterday, 434 today. Cool.

Ahhh..but there it is-click on the 434, it still says 401.

I saw the post and I run "into" my account to see the links that are showed now for the websites listed into my webmaster tools account.

And surprise : for all the websites : NO LINKS .

How is this possible ?

yeah , it's true . one of my sites has increased from 9200 to 24000 :)

I wonder how long it will take before the actual links show up? Google likes to torture us.

I get more excited about link updates than I do PR updates any day. I'm glad to see this because I thought there was something wrong with one of my sites. Now, with the update at google webmaster tools my external links are 80 times more than what google webmaster tools had been showing :)

Oddly enough, what webmaster tools are showing for my external links is higher than what yahoo shows.

Yes, Google just updated the "count" of links but they explained (http://www.seroundtable.com/archives/012619.html#comment-268785) that they are still updating the actual links reported in the reports. It should be updated in a "day or so".

Just checked mine and that is very very strange,
some of my pages appear twice with a different link count.

for example

www.domain.com 4304
www.domain.com 4502
www.domain.com/page.html 404
www.domain.com/page.html 402

All the pages that i see in double like that don't show up in the search results if i type "page" ( where page is the keyword where i was ranked well ), nothing found.
So it seems that google think that the same page is duplicate content :( seems like a bug in the new algorythm or !?

Yes it updated, I got 150:eek: back links, before is 0 :eek:

See what will happen with those links

You can see all your external links in google webmaster tools evn though the site prompt only shows a handful.

There are different stages of backlink updating.
(Above is only a backlink update time estimation which is there from January on.)

In fact I'm trying to understand this process myself...

I see the links have now updated again. Maybe they are going to update them at a more frequent interval now.

wow! My links updated ~3000 to ~7000 :) All I need any more is that my page rank would go from 4 to 5 :P

Be more optimistic. I'm looking only to backlinks of new pages. :-)

I hope this is not end of update. Google indexes only 4 backlinks, yahoo - 81.
