View Full Version : Yahoo Ad System Crashes

After a weekend upgrade, Yahoo's search engine ad system first slowed to a crawl, and then went belly up on Monday, preventing marketers from making changes to their campaigns, accessing their accounts and, in many cases, even having their ads run at all.

This sure must hurt...

whatever you think of google and all of its products - did you *ever* get a "Server too busy" or "500 Internal error" message from them? I didn't... (but do check the GMail-does-not-work thread)

it takes years to build up a reputition -- it takes one mistake to ruin it and get global media attention about your screw-ups

I feel sad for the lads that spent the weekend doing the upgrades ... no bonus this year for them I suppose

(thnx for the link fryman, nice read)

This isnt really YPN related (well might be) but the big stink is the Yahoo! Search Marketing Sponsored Search (Overture) product.

There are plans for it to change to a more adwords-like system in the Future...

I'm looking forward to the change.

when the product is in beta any thing can be happen - no problem - Yeah i saw several times Google display "Server Is Busy Try in 30 Seconds" even they are not in beta

Beta systems suppose to crash. That's why they called beta. It's like a disclaimer...

I didn't see any problems or issues on the YPN side of things, except for a couple login problems. Ads were still being served on publisher sites, and earnings seemed to be normal, although stats were delayed.
