Just curious if any DP members are part of the spotplex beta and if so what you think of it so far? If you have the code on your site are there any performance issues? Are they sending any worthwhile traffic?

i don't have it yet..and won't use it. I didn't go in deep but seem like the system is easier to game than Digg. also, does that mean site already have mega traffic will go on top easily since it is all about traffic

Maybe first day bugs for them - been slow as syrup all day for me too. Surely hope they aren't exceeding capacity right from the get-go:)

I just threw the code on my blog - I am not in the beta, but you can still put the widget on your site. So far, no performance issues - surprising considering how slow the main site is.

I got into the beta yesterday and added the code to my ppc (http://www.ppcdiscussions.com) blog. 1 visitor so far...
That said, I checked my rank on the spotplex site and it's 200 something. My guess if you're not in the top 20 or so you don't get much action.
Anyone else in yet?

Yeap - I got into the beta about 3 days ago with www.deepmarket.com - ranked like 126 or so with only 200 visitors.

I would love an invite if anyone has one to spare - Just send a PM. Just incase anyone is interested, I can trade it for an OINK invite, if you know what that is.

Seems to me like unless you already have a popular site you wont get much in terms of traffic. Am I missing something or are the "ranks" spotplex assigned based soley on traffic?

As far as I can tell - purely traffic based.

I got an e-mail upd5ate from Spotplex today. Looks like they are trying to address some of the early "issues" with how they rank sites. Tha would be good...as so far I've received a total of 3 visitors from spotplex:)
Dear Blogger,
Around a month has passed since we launched our service. After an early struggle we had with the blog traffic, we have been focusing on stabilizing our service environment. Since we released a new version of our database structure which was completely redesigned about three weeks ago, our service has been very stable and working smoothly even with much more impression data from various blogs.
Now that we finally stabilized our service platform for good, I believe we are ready to push out new features.
RELATIVE POPULARITY MEASURE
I am very excited about this, and also a lot of people demanded it. This list sorts articles based on how much more traffic the article received compared to the site's normal traffic level. Also, the article age is considered in calculating the popularity and older articles get discounted. I hope this new measure gives small-to-medium size bloggers enough opportunity to shine.
BEYOND BLOGS
For the initial semi-closed beta period, we could only support a few major blog tools (Blogger, Wordpress, TypePad, MovableType, ...). With the re-launch, we are opening our door to any site, not just blogs, as long as it has a valid RSS feed.
Spotplex will keep evolving with your feedbacks. Please let me know if you have any question or suggestion.
Sincerely,
Doyon

I am still using Spotplex on my blog, but I don't seem to get much traffic from them. Is anyone else using Spotplex with any success?

I took it off of my blog a few months ago. Never received any traffic worth mentioning.

Hmmm... I may consider doing that also. I am getting some traffic from Thoof, but I have to paste a badge into every post for it to make any difference.

I know this thread is old, but it still loads very, very slowly here.
Not sure if they still get new users or if it is worth it at all.

I honeslt don't think it is. It was slow as could be when I yanked it and never sent any traffic worth mentioning. This thread sent me more traffic than Spotplex:p
