Hi,

I'm looking for a free blog script that at least supports templates and comments... but I think they all do anyway.

any script you can recommend?

The best blog system that isn't run on a 3rd party site (like Blogger) is Movably Type in my opinion. You need a server that supports CGI and PERL to run it, and I believe they have a basic license that is free.

Yes, the basic license is free.

I personally recommend WordPress(http://www.wordpress.org), as the rebuilding process in MovableType is a huge disadvantage. However, MT 3.1 won't have that problem anymore.

Agreed... the rebuilding thing isn't that cool in MT. I also wish the guts was PHP instead of PERL too. :)

perl wouldnt be a problem... can you explain in 1 or 2 words why the rebuilding in MT aint good?

I heard good things about movable type and B2(evolution) so far, going to choose between them I think.

It's not that it's "bad", it's just time consuming if you have a very large blog. Although in reality, you typically don't need to rebuild the whole thing, so...
