Just read this article, and I doubt about it?
What you all say about it?

I don't think so. Not with my site at least.

Well, I've seen a nice increase in revenue from my site. The click-through rate has increased and the payout seems higher than normal.
Of course this could more easily be explained by a higher interest in my subject area at the moment. Whatever it is I'm happy ;)

I've seen earnings rise with increased spidering from the 'other' search engines.

This is a quote from the article. I thought the Adsense TOS allowed you to go into detail now.
I can tell you we did see an up tick the last two days. I can't get into exact details because of Adsense TOS. ?

I have seen increases and although it’s too early to tell, I suspect it has everything to do with Yahoo!
It is a sign of things to come. I firmly believe that those of us with sites already out there making cash will see a large increase in the next year. Google has to pay more, especially now!

My earnings has not seen an increase.
If you think about it, if Google wants to increase our earnings in some way to compete with Yahoo!, why not just tell us then do it secretly? Why not just annouce to everyone, "Google is increasing payouts to all Adsense Publishers to compete with Yahoo!" Wouldn't this attract even more publishers. The only reason is to keep themselves from an online advertising war. But then IMO Yahoo is definitely not at the level of Google in both SE and advertising.
Another possibility is Google might be trying to keep the big adsense players so Google doesn't lose them to Yahoo! This does make sense because honestly from a business standpoint, if I am a small guy (and I am one of those small guys though not too small ;) ) why would Google care if they lose me to Yahoo! Publishing Network? They would have to lose hundreds of me before it would be equivalent to losing a big player (depending on how big this big player is.)
If Google is helping the big guys and not the small guys, they wouldn't want to have a press release over it because Google could lose small Adsense Publishers in masses. By keeping the big guys happy, there is a less likely chance they will switch to YPN after comparing which has a higher payout.
Now maybe this could be a start of something. Take care of the big guys first and slowly trickle down to the smaller guys as Yahoo becomes more competitive. But the way I see it Google would have something like, the more you make from adsense, the better the earnings payout.
So if you are a small player, I don't think you should be looking forward to any increase. If you are a big player, you should be very happy about the YPN and Adsense competition. :)

Well I have just read the "article" ,more of a summup, but anyways that aint what this thread is about. I have noticed a increase as well. Increase of 200%. My earnings have more then doubled.
Don't you think it has to do with a publisher choosing your website to show his banner ads. CPM ads? And the change of 4 of august with displaying less ads and just the higher paying one's?
Did anyone here, who had a increase in adsense, see a increase last week in the number of backlinks as well??

But this co-incides with Google announcing better ad delivery systems. Why don't people just accept that google are doing what they say they are doing? It is in their best interests to deliver the most relevant ads to the pages as these ae more likely to be clicked through, regardless of the click value.

I have to agree with OWG (I must be losing it :) ). I'm finding that big G seems to be making the impact more than an outside influence by Y or anyone else. I also believe that with G making changes and the multitude of announcements is driving more websites to start taking advantage of the opportunities which builds us all up even more. IMHO.
P.S. note to self, need to go out and slam OWG to maintain balance ;)

This article never mentions Yahoo Publishing network as a cause of increase. Google made an organic step to improve the performance of AdSense and they just did it.

Well, whatever they are doing, it seems that it is working. Let's hope this is a sign of more good things to come.

Well, remember that AdSense is only a by-product (and maybe not so desirable for big G 'cause they have to share) of AdWords. That's the AdWords that is improving, and as an AdWords advertiser I have to admit: it's been improved dramatically over the last year. I had actually shut my ad campaigns down about ten months ago for the conversion rate that sucked. Having restarted the ads two weeks ago I'm seeing a five times increase in efficiency, although the number of clicks have actually dropped for the same CPC.
Getting back to the main topic of this thread, I don't think AdSense earnings have increased across the entire range of publisher, due to Yahoo or otherwise. Mine have been steadily rising, but not so dramatically, and most certainly I have not seen a spike couple weeks ago. Business as usual. I just think that some popular keywords were prone to abuses, and, by weeding out some bad guys as well as improving the algo, Google increased earnings for the good guys targeting those popular keywords.
Cheers,
D.
