Froogle is the #2 site that sends us referrals after Google. We upload a product feed once a week to keep the data current.

What do you mean it can't be automated? You can send a feed every few weeks through an FTP program.

I've bought a bunch of things I've found off froogle, so I'd deffinatly recomend people to list their stuff for sale there :) Can't hurt.

we get a couple of sales a day at about $60 a pop in a very saturated category (Perfume) so I have to assume that froogle is selling a hundred bottles a day. We don't rank very well there - I am exploring ways of getting a bigger peice of that pie.

What software do you use or which method do you use to see if Froogle sends a visitor to your site and if there is a sale that comes from that specific visit.. I've started with froogle about a month ago and I cant determine if any sales or referrals have originated there. I need to know this to determine wether its worth the time I put into my feeds.

to the guy that said 1 sale a week isnt worth it...

any sale is worth the effort. if your puting to much time into your feed generation, thats your fault. you should setup somethign to automate the process. if you say your website cant be automated your wrong. you could always setup a content fetching script to do it the hard way if need be, if you have a database of products it is simple. add a few lines of code to ftp it directly to google, add it all to a cron job and away you fly with automated results.

again i say any sale is worth effort and hard work. the amount of hard work is jsut based on how creative you are.

and on a side note, froogle seems to perform better than pricegrabber and bizrate, and its free, so wheres the downside?

It really isn't difficult. What sort of problems were you having?

I was having problems with incorrect formatting - the whole process and instructions were not too unclear. I would ask me to correct one formatting error and resubmit, then it would accept the submission with the "pending" status only to return it with another error hours later. It was pretty frustrating...
Well, It was six month ago - I hope it's easier now.

Why would you call something that has thousands of UVs a day, with over 60% of regular users, with the majority of users being 18 - 49 y.o. males (hungry to please their wives) a pain in the neck or a waste of time? :D

It is a goldmine. Yes, it is a bit slow, comparing to Froogle US, but anyway, British people are going to the Product Search to find the products. Also true is that Google still has a lot of work to do with it... but, if you are not making any sales it may mean you have chosen a tight niche (you are mad if you're listing books or CDs in Froogle) or you have to rewrite your descriptions or get compelling pics to make people to click.

Or people simply don't want your product at this moment. Or you may want to do some extra work on your data feed optimization to make your product appear on the top.
