two simple newbie questions: IP class and posting "clear" URL

Hello all,
finally can post a new thread :) I've got 2 simple questions, but I would like to know your thoughts:
1) I see some value a lot links from different class C IP. Is this so important? for every search engine, or just google?
2) is safe to post URL in clear? I see some people that reveal their full URL only in PM, other that post them shamelessly :D so was wondering if is safe or not ?

I can't comment much on #1, but suffice to say it does look more natural than having all your links coming from the same place.

#2 - people don't post their URLs if they are doing dodgy stuff with them. Google employees troll these forums, and probably visit sig links like everyone else. If you have nothing to hide from Google, then it's fine to post your URL in public, and will even bring you some traffic. If you are selling links, involved in link farms, or are doing some dodgy cloaking, probably best to avoid posting links where uncle matt will find them :)

For the #2, another reason is that to do that is better for SEO. For example, if I post www.hkhangfong.com, which is my site, it's just a link to my site; but if I post like Website Promotion Tutorial (http://www.hkhangfong.com), and if I have many links with anchor text like this, it will increase my rank if searching "website promotion" in google.
