Godaddy Transfer

I bought a domain off ebay.

The domain is hosted at godaddy.

The seller is requesting: Name/Address/Email/Account #
When I called godaddy - all they said he needed is my email address to start the process.

Does anyone know?
I just don't want to give out too much info (privacy)

Not really. There will not be any email notification if that's just pushing between GoDaddy accounts. The GoDaddy account email is necessary.

Make sure at least your name and email address are accurate, the rest could be that of the current owner. The rest can remain as it is as there is no validation at the point of transfer. Once the domain name is in your account, you can update the rest of the details.

It doesn't matter to give our your address, since everyone on earth with a hooked-up computer is able to see your Whois even if you set it private :).

Some information must be entered into all required fields or the system will not initiate the transfer. The only piece of information thant must be correct is the buyers valid email address that is used with an existing godaddy account.

I have bought and sold using the process where the contact info looked like this:
Ebay Buyer
123 Some Street
MyTown, CA 89562
800-555-1212

Any combination of valid characters in the correct field will work.

As the buyer it your job to make sure all the information is correct after you receive the domain.

thanks - I am more concerned about giving too much info - then having the user attempt to hack the account.. just a little on edge when giving out info..

They can't - but if the domain is public - it's on record.

I have never bought/trans. a private domain. I wonder how that would happen..

When I transfer domains with GoDaddy, I just make up all the information and enter in the users godaddy account email. It works every time.
