I have just recently begun adding Adsense to some of my websites, and I was only getting a very few clicks. Some clicks showed on my reports, but I had a feeling that I should have been getting more.

Today, I had a test run by someone, and, sure enough, the clicks have not appeared.

I copied the code directly out of the box on the Adsense page as follows:-

<script type="text/javascript"><!--
google_ad_client = "pub-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx";
google_ad_width = 120;
google_ad_height = 600;
google_ad_format = "120x600_as";
google_ad_channel ="xxxxxxxxxxx";
//--></script>
<script type="text/javascript"
src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">
</script>

and pasted it into my webpages then FTP'd them.

I've just redone a whole load of pages, and run a further test, and again nothing is showing.

Could anyone give me any pointers to what I may be doing wrong?

In my experience, it sometimes takes up to 24 hours for clicks to be reported. For example, some clicks from yesterday did not register on my report until today. And today, it only shows that I have had 22 page views when in reality it has been much more ... sometimes it just takes a bit. Some days, it seems like it updates very fast. I'm sure you've done nothing wrong. Those clicks will most likely show up on your report later tonight.

You should see PSA ads right away. Sometimes it is the homes machines browser. Try pressing ctrl+F5 and see if that helps.

What is the URL?

Adsense can be REAL slow sometimes, I've been waiting for updates up to 48hours several times before...

It's not that you don't see ads. It shows ads correctly, and I never see PSA ads.

The site is Stratos (http://www.stratossupersite.com/) so you will be able to see that it shows ads correctly.

Don't worry. The updates are slow. I tried making an excel program to predict how many I would end up with by plotting the times I check and the ads shown, but it is so random it didn't work. Just check the next morning from the previous day. You need to learn to forget about it or it will drive you insane!

OK, I'll try and be patient.

It's late in the UK now, so I'll check again in the morning.

If I am reading you correctly, you are in violation of the AdSense TOS.

Quoting the AdSense FAQ:

Please note that clicking on your own ads for any reason is prohibited, to avoid potential inflation of advertiser costs. All clicks must be generated as the result of a user clicking on the ads.

Please be assured that there is no need for test clicks in order to verify the validity of the ads. Our AdWords specialists review ads to verify that the destination URLs of the ads are working and lead to a valid website.

Quoting the AdSense FAQ:

Well, it was only 2 clicks, and they weren't done by me - they were done by a proper visitor to my site.

Anyway, they showed up during the night, so it appears that it must be alright - I guess I'll have to be more patient in future.

I usually see all the clicks by 8:00am the next day but it some times takes until noon the next day.

I believe they disregard clicks from a computer that you have logged into Adsense from. I've heard this in forums and I think that I originally got this info from Google when I emailed them to say I accidently clicked on one of my ads.

Even if it was done by a visitor of your site, if you told him to click, then it is a violation. Just want you to be careful, don't want you to lose your account.

you need to wait 2 days if you're using a channel.

It can be as slow as 2 days, but most of the time it's faster.
