Yes, I highly doubt that the average is (2) sales per day. You probably could using some high cost keywords, however, imagine the cost to get those (2) sales.

That type of affiliate payment sounds good, but you have to be realistic. A product that is of lower cost and an easy seller is usually what brings you the money - better conversion and ROI on PPC.

I also doubt that the average is two orders a day although I would say that it would be possible if you have the right site.

It does sound pretty good like you say conversions would probably by low.
I will probably sign up when I finish my other website though.

Yeah $800.00 is a hard road to hoe. I promote some expensive programs (not that much), and it is simply much harder to get conversions, for the obvious reasons.

$800 sales would likely require a substantial number of leads to get a single sale. With $120 commission, lets say you spent a horrendous 50% of that, that would be $60.00. I would say you would probably need a MINIMUM of 500 leads to make that kind of sale, realistically, probably more. You can't really spend that much in a PPC environment and get the quality traffic needed to get those conversions.

Who knows though, maybe the conversion rate would be much better, but the pricetag turns a lot of people into lookielous. Even if you disclosed the price in your ad you would still have a hard time filtering the curious people out.

Personally I would like a much higher ROI than the 2 to 1 that I outlined, so that would make the amount you had to spend to get the conversion even less.

Let us say I wanted 3 to 1, so I could only spend $40.00. Let us also say that I ended up spending 40 cents a pop due to quality of traffic and such. That is 100 clicks. So you would need 1% conversion to make it work. At 20 cents a pop, you would still need 1 out of 200 to convert. That seems pretty high for an $800 item.

One thing people need to remember is anyone can set up an affiliate program. Just because someone sets one up does not mean it is viable for an affiliate marketer. They have very little risk, relatively speaking. The burden is on us.

That being said, you never really know until you test something.

If they can guarantee 1% conversion rates, I would be all over it. :)
