View Full Version : I was told Adcenter was the best place to test things and learn PPC, but...

What is up with Adcenter? Everyone says it's the best place to test, etc. I have done PPC before on Google and Yahoo, but things have changed quite a bit in the last 2 years.

Yahoo reporting is annoying, but everything else is straight forward and it seems to be effective and easy to use. Google is a pain in the ass. And Adcenter is an unexpected pain in the ass.

I have 30-50,000 keywords uploaded to adcenter. I am bidding on broad, phrase, and exact for every keyword. My bids are in the 40-50 cent range, but I don't get a lot of impressions. I'm bidding on ringtone keywords... so for the general terms, I know there is a lot of search volume.

The other thing that is a pain in the ass is when I tested $2.00 max bids to see what would happen, I got impressions and clicks, but only $2.00 clicks. It seems that no matter what, every click I get is for max bid. Whether it's on a general term or some random longtail misspelled exact match bid.

I use dynamic text keyword insertion in my ads along with a default generic ad for back up. So maybe it's a relevancy issue? Yahoo gives all my dynamic text ads a high quality score for the same words.

What is a good strategy to take the best advantage of Adcenter? I know I'm probably way off the path moving in the wrong direction. Luckily I'm still pulling more profit than I expected because of Yahoo's performance!

Nevermind. I thought I got it answered. It thought it had to do with me not having my own landing page. Now I do and I still get barely any impressions. Hmm. Weird. Yahoo seems to be the easiest for noobs.

I thought so. I was told it was a big thing, but I have a good landing page that is very relevant and has a lot of copy on it (all original) and it has internal and external links and still NOTHING! I can't get any love with MSN unless I kick my bids up to the dollar range.

lol exact same problem here.

I just registred using there 100$ coupon.

It seems like hell hard to spend it now!!!

I put 3 time more than what i put in google for same keayword but still very low impression and low clickrate.

kinda sucks..
