Hi everyone.

I am looking for a design that is memorable, clean and simple for this site: link (http://menuhq.com/)


The logo is for a website that displays restaurant and their menus.

The slogan: your menu headquarters

A brandable icon/graphic should be included in the design that can be resized (and legible) at 16x16 (for a favicon).

The winner will deliver:
1) original vector file (.ai and .psd)-- (winner to send original layered files and fonts)
2) web formats: .gif & .jpg
3) Favicon (.ico)of the brandable graphic/icon in both sizes: 32x32 and 16x16.

Contest ends January 25, 2007 unless you and I are still trying to finalize entries.

Well here's to get this contest started. My idea - I originally designed the chef with detail. But for the sake of how it would look as a favicon I created the silohette version of it. (100% original):

For some reason I am not quite getting the 'feeling' of the purpose of the website though. Maybe it is because the bakers's hat reminds me more of cooking instead of a menu service.

It is difficult for me to discern what the lid/cover is. IF I was to go with that type of concept I would be more comfortable with xpressions' entry.

I posted that image because I do like it (except for multiple colors in background). I like the 3D effect and that the logo is contained in a small area (not spread out).

--make the menu the size of your entry in post 69 (increase everything proportionately)

You can put the tray back into an entry as well, I could adjust the header height to accommodate a taller logo.

Can you do 2 entries like this:

a) change the menu color (in entry #9 of your post #68) to be the color of your entry #1?

b) same as above (a) but change the "HQ" to the color of the menu.


If you can think of something to do with the menu to give it a little personality, give it a shot.

Append these entries to your post #68 but notify me of the additional entries if you do them.

Regarding you last entry a). Are you sure that it is the same size fonts as entry #9 in post 68? There seems to less space between the "M" and the menu border.

Also, I was hoping to see the "M" in black color (like in your entry #9 of post 68).

Regarding b.) I was hoping to see "HQ" in the same color as the menu.

Increase the size of these entries approximately 30% from the entries in post #68.

Yes, I meant to tell you about that in the post. When I edited the menu color the black M pretty much was a blend with the dark red. But I'll post up and also see what I can do to make it not blend.

The "HQ" is the same dark red color as the menu. Unless you mean dard red and white?

I'll fix the space between the M and the border. I think the effect I put on the M is causing it to take up a little extra space. However, the font is the same size.

prospeareht, yep that is what I meant and I certainly did make a mistake because I didn't realize the black "M" would blend so much with the menu color. Definitely a bad call on my part, I'm sorry.

I'll have to come up with some other combination. I'm trying to make it so that the word "MENU" is all one color and the 'word' "HQ" is a different color.

Ok, no problem. So, if all possible, you'd want the word "menu" to be in black? How about the word "menu" in white and the initials "HQ" in black? I'll play around with it and post up if I come up with anything.

Regarding post 101, I am trying to reduce the emphasis on the tagline without increasing the size of the rest of the image.
Can you post these two new changes:

1) eliminate the black border around the tagline?
2) make the black border around the tagline narrower?
3) any idea that you may have that reduce the tagline emphasis

The H in both symbolize the Headquarters, with the Q inside of it.
and the second one is meant to symbolize those napkins at resturants :)
