View Full Version : How do I switch sites in CJ?

I've looked all over CJ help for this and can't find the answer, so hoping you guys can help...

I have added a 2nd website to my CJ account, and I'm having problems with my applications to merchants. I am trying to apply to programs for the 2nd website but it seems to keep applying under the name of my 1st website.

Is it possible to apply as the 2nd one or do I need a whole different account for that? If it is possible, what am I doing wrong?

Many thanks

From my understanding the merchant can view all the sites in your account, not just your primary website. Could be wrong though.

You don't need to apply for secondary sites, if you are approved for one, you are approved for all.

ok, I think that answers it, Thanks.
My 2 sites are very different so basically when I apply to a merchant for site B, I didn't want the merchant only seeing site A (if that makes sense)

So, does that also mean whichever merchant is approved for site A already, I can now also add their links to site B if I want?

Yep.

When you goto the Get Links section of CJ, you ge to choose which site you want to generate the link code for.

The only problem is, if your first site is about dieting and you have affiliate links for that site then you develop your second site for furniture related products you may have a hard time getting programs accepted if they are looking at the dieting site.

Cyclops, that was my concern. There are very different - neither are controversial or unfavourable types (other than being small) but totally different.
It's early days for site #2 though - only just getting it going, so I'll see what happens as I go....

I ran into an issue when I switched my incentive status to "yes" on cj. It forced me to re-apply to ALL of my advertisers, not just the ones for the site with the incentive but also the one without, and because of my new status, many that had already approved me then rejected me. I called cj and they said the best thing to do if you have sites that are wildly different is just to set up two accounts. Easy enough. Just have to log in twice to check all of your stats.

Today I received another two approvals from advertisers, I applied about 6 weeks ago, if they are that slow approving I wonder how good they are at reporting commissions.

Approvals is a merchant based thing, nothing to do with CJ.

Approvals is a merchant based thing, nothing to do with CJ.I realise that, but the merchant has to report approvals to CJ before you get paid. I think if it takes more than a week to approve a site then they are going to be just as slow or slower to report.

I think that it's true that while merchants do report the sales/leads, once you are approved for their program then the reporting is relatively automatic. Often it has taken me many weeks to be approved, but I have NEVER (knock on wood) had a delay in reporting of sales or leads.

What may affect the reporting is whether merchants report in "real time" (i.e. several minutes - 24 hours) or batch their transactions. The merchant detail will tell you that.

Good luck!
