I have seen somewhere that creating a blog and adding it to my yahoo accelerates the indexing of internal pages by yahoo ! how true is that.
If so, what should I put in the blog ? a sitemap ? or few posts with my site internal links in ?

i don't understand your question here...are you trying to get the blog indexed or another site indexed ?
Anyway, i try to answer your question. Just use rss feed. You don't need a blog for that.
If you're trying to get your site indexed, put a rss feed on the site, then add the rss feed to your yahoo account. Then wait for about 1 week. That's all ( you may or may not be indexed .. no guarantee that this works, but that's what ppl have been talking about )
Read the other thread in DP for more info..

I want to get the site indexed. looks like having a blog, pointing to the website, submitted to my yahoo accelerates the indexing of the site ("blog and ping")

maybe ..but if your site is not indexed, how long will it takes for yahoo to index a newly created blog? you'd be in catch 22
personally, i just used the rss method and it worked for me. i don't create another blog - too much work.
