Pretty much the same way you get traffic from Google or MSN. Read about SEO and build good content and links.

have heard many people said that having your site listed in yahoo directory really helps to bring in traffic from Yahoo. Haven't tried myself though..

One of my sites does quite well on Yahoo - in fact I got an even third from each of the search engines...

No such luck on my other (revenue generating) website.

Any other thoughts on the Yahoo Directory? My site shows almost 3000 backlinks from Yahoo and 0 from Google (it's a relatively new humor site, the one in my sig), but Google sends me 200-300 visitors per day and yahoo sends me 2-3. I'd love to know how to get ranked higher in Yahoo as well.

As weird as it sounds I would start a site on blogspot then put the yahoo rss feed button to subscribe to a site. I would then subscribe to all my feeds. I would usually start seing my pages indexed within 2-3 days but that was several month back and don't know if it still works. For now I just place links on my other sites where the google spider is spidering. That tends to help.

Hi,

try Yahoo Overture, pay per click, costs a bit but good customers;).

I think if your site does well is based on how well the sites that link to you do. I must admit though I'm currently making a search engine and original content rocks when it comes to viewing a website.

it depends on a lots of factors, yahoo and msn get your site very quick, google get your site in index a little bit slow, but gives you more traffic than yahoo and msn, my site is well indexed in yahoo and msn but i am getting more traffic from google,

and it is right, if you could get a backlink from yahoo directory, you can get traffic...

so you mean to say we have to submit our site in yahoo directory only then we will get traffic from yahoo

I'm in the directory, but still get ~5 hits per day from Yahoo and MSN, vs 500 for Google. Is it even worth optimizing for Google?

Submit your site pages to del.icio.us and import to yahoo my web. Verify your site in yahoo site explorer.

If you are only talking about Yahoo then here is a query for you. Have you ever tried the Yahoo group? Join that, and you will get a wide variety of groups. Select as per your website theme, involved yourself over there and make them know about you and your site. I guess, you will get quality traffic from there.
