Hi,
I am buying Text links from a nich and related .ORG site. I am really paying a premium for the link. The webmaster offered a text link (5-40 pages approx) from static pages (little unrelated to my site) OR
a text link (1000+ pages approx) from dynamic pages (highly relevant to my site).
Which one carries more weight in terms of PR boost?
Either way i am going to get reasonable traffic to my site and i was originally interested only in traffic. However, i will go with the scheme which will also boost my google PR.
Please help.
thanks

Not clear what you mean by static vs. dynamic.
If by dynamic you mean the page changes a lot, as long as that page is in Google's index, has a high page ranking and the path of the page will remain the same for the next 12 months or so, you're good
If by dynamic you mean a page where the URL looks something like:
http://www.website.com/page.php?id=24
I would stay away from it.
Google is getting better at indexing those dynamic pages, but in general most search engines favor static names vs. dynamic file names.

Thank you softwareprojects for your quick response.
Here are sample urls with ***
http://www.****.org/community/
http://www.****.org/community/ping.asp
http://www.****.org/community/?Tab=1
http://www.****.org/community/browse.asp?tag=Technology
What do you think about them?
Looks like all their dynamic pages are indexed. I checked using 'SITE:...'
Thanks

Links from relevant sites are always preferred :)

On top of it, this is an ORG site. However most of their dynamic pages are below my page rank and few of them are above my page rank.
So, do you think all these factors will help boost my PR?
Links from relevant sites are always preferred :)

I agree, also,
try to have distinct anchor text
Limit sitewide links
Try to get links that are not in the footer
Try to get in content links if possible.

ServerUnion,
That is not possible. Again, this is not a sitewide link oppurtunity.
And the link goes in the footer.
I am adding the actual url here.
Please remove spaces and asterisks.

I had a links on dynamic pages directory they get indexed in google very quickly and but Google may not show link on dynamic pages even though it is indexed but MSN showed links for my site
Even though static pages are preferred more the dynamic pages can get indexed quickly
