You need a real credit card in order to make a PayPal payment, sorry. :)

What you can do is create a paypal account using a Mastercard or Visa gift card. You can usually load these cards with as little as $25. They will give you a CC number a physical credit card. I have done it, it works :)

Google "Mastercard gift card" to find a place near you.

As a side note, make sure to clean your browsers cookies before making a second paypal account... Paypal is crafty at detecting old users.

Ah, VM Cirrus card like a US Bank, you can use it to add US Bank account to paypal and get verify. Paypal will fund 2 small amounts to your card and you can get verify easy. Its not virtual visa or virtual mastercard.

yah, I still using this card with paypal, its ok. I have 2 pp acc, one use with US Bank account from etrade, its limited by break terms of pp. 2nd pp is ok with this card.

The bank issued (VISA or MasterCard) Credit Card or American Express Charge/Credit Card would work too. Just get it from the bank in your country, best if it is an international bank.

But if you are using HDFC visa debit card to make a Visa virtual credit card...then i guess it won't work.

You can easit pass the first step...but then you need to transfer $1.95 after which a number should appear in ur statement which you need to submit at paypal....and i guess you won't get this no using virtual credit card.

LOL, there is a way out here...but what is the gift for me for answering this one:D :D

Look, first of all, HDFC bank issues a virtual card which is Verified by Visa. It works everywhere and it does work to get verified by paypal too...yes, it does.

Then why didn't it work for you? you probably created a card with Rs.100 or Rs.150 thinking that you are charged $1.95 which is absolutely natural, even I did the same thing in begining.

But there is one more funda..? If you carefully go through paypal help pages you will know that you need to create a virtual card of minimum 3 EUROS for a pre-paid credit card to work.

What you do is create a card for Rs.300 straight away even though 200 will also work I think, Then click get verified and enter this virtual number. Then log into netsafe (A feature with HDFC bank) and look at the transactions it will show something like XXXXPaypal, where XXXX is your expanded use number.

Just enter this number by loggin in again at Paypal.

You can get verified in 35 seconds flat if you have a HDFC Bank account and are a registered user on netsafe.

I asked this from a person here but incidently he was a SBI guy and he told me about SBI. That do a FD of 40000 and you will have a credit card. Documents are PAN Card and address proof. also he told me, on this card you will have a limit of upto 1.5 lac !!!! That was some stuff man.

I think the same works for ICICI but may be with lower limit.

Can someone check it here?????

I have a friend who have both icici and hdfc bank account and i just told him about this. He created account with them that netsafe account and he verified his paypal too so i think this works perfectly.

Will get more details from him regarding transactions etc and fee taken by paypal and his bank etc. He was very happy. Located in near Calcutta (did i spelled it correctly) i think.

Netsafe is hdfcbank service i think. Its for bank customers only. Open hdfc website and you will see it under Online services. I can get more details from my friend regarding this if you want.

Ans: Remember one thing. I used central bank credit card at many online locations and at 50% it didn't work. If you have a choice go for International banks like HSBC, Citibank then HDFC, ICICI, and then only SBI..others.

Since I've both ICICI and HDFC bank credit cards, I might be helpful a bit in this topic..

First of all, your HDFC international debit card won't work with PayPal. If you wanna verify your PayPal account, you must have a credit card. Though I have never tried VCC because of the account suspension risk, I did try gCard.

With a worldwide ATM cards like gCard and others in this category, you get a "virtual" bank account in USA that can be used only for ACH transfers.

I read some posts about GoOpen Sirrus card in this thread. I think it works in the same way as does the gCard.

As far as ICICI bank is concerned, if your FD is high, you'll automatically become eligible to get a credit card. :) The same thing happened in my own case.


Btw, I'll like to ask one question to you folks who are experienced with HDFC NetSafe. Even I use NetSafe.. but I'm not aware how do you get a HDFC virtual debit card. Could you please guide me at this point?

The remaining amount will be transfered back to your account after 1 month i guess....

If you create a virtual card and you didn't use it...then the full amount will be transfered back within 4-5 days....

But if you created a card of say $10 and used just $5 for shopping then the remaining $5 will be credited back to your account within a month....

Absolutely :) Check the seller's reputation before buying anything especially from TG. I was scamed by a guy called "Templar Seller" on a gCard deal few weeks back. And in TG, you get lot of scammes. So, always be alert on that.

I am from Mumbai, India.Yes,you can verify your paypal account by using a credit card issued by HDFC Bank.My paypal account has been verified many years back by using a credit card issued by ICIC Bank.It is not important to know which bank is issuing the credit card. It is important to know that your credit card has a visa logo or a master card logo.These logo's are internationally recognised and allows your paypal account to get verified.
