Like I said, what does it need to be pr7 from pr5?

I have bunch of backlinks and bought a pr8, pr7 text links like a month or two ago..but it is not doing any good.

Build backlinks with higher PR like PR8 or maybe 10 PR7 sites, then wait for Google's update.

I am not aware too many pr7 sites that do not get a lot of traffic, not just links. I believe that google monitors user behavior, especially with higher pr sites, so make sure your plan includes a way to get people talking about your site and using your site in some way.

It takes some time also.

It takes in account the length the link has been on there also. So having a PR8 and 7 link for 1 or 2 months wont really help you very quickly. Say when Jan comes and "if the PR updates" then those links wont have much effect on raising the PR because they are so new and need to be in place for awhile. In order to see any effect really you are probably going to have to wait 4 months or 2 PR update cycles.

PR is not something that will just change overnight. I would recommend never buying monthly links and always stick to permanent and just keep building and building.

Agreed, pr is not that important. PR is just used in link exchanges IMO.

There hasn't been an update in two months. Wait a week or two and then see if that PR 8 link didn't do it. I suspect it will if it is sitewide. Others will disagree.

Well technically it is updated that often. But the toolbar isnt updated every hour. :)

The topic of the sites you bought links should be relevant. I also observed that having the same pattern in domain names helps a lot.

Other than that tehnically you need ~3 PR8 links to obtain PR7.

And for seeing a change in PR you should wait for the next PR update. Assumed to be happened before february.

If you are talking about visitors while saying "but it is not doing any good", it all depends on your niche and site.

As mentioned patience since you just bought the links.

Main thing is that you need to wait until the next PR update is exported to the toolbar than you'll see the results.

One other point when you're thinking long term. I mean long term.

I know a music site that has PR7 without any PR7 or PR8 links. The site is older (over 5 years old) and they have about 1000 links showing up in MSN.

So think long term and build the links. If you build with other quality sites their PR will increase in time and yours will be taken along for the PR ride.

Good luck.

Apart from the many backlinks from low PR sites, as we all know quantity helps too, how many links from high PR sites would be needed for a site to get PR7?

In the case of backlinks from PR7 - 10 is enough?
"" from PR8 - 5 is enough?

- Have a link exchange to related sites with higher PR
- Create an article and submit it to big article directories (example:ezinearticles.com)
- Build backlinks in high PR directories

I say build gradually as your site grows. The only reason why many people want high PR is so they can charge substantial amount for selling links.

i think could be an another reason: not every pr7 pr8 sites treated the same by google...
they have a list of trusted sites, so if you bought links from one of them, then u may get higher pr. otherwise, i don't think so...
