I can't seem to remember the site that I can go to, to create a free sitemap for my site. Can anyone give any resources for this?

Thanks.

Doug,
That's not it. That is for those who already have a sitemap and then submit to Google. I need to first create a sitemap.

The address bigdoug gave also includes scripts you can download to have sitemaps created, not just for submitting existing sitemaps.

Well, I went to this link where the sitemap generator is;
https://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/docs/en/sitemap-generator.html

and it's too much for me. I'm not goog at programming. You mean to tell me that there aren't any other free software out there for a sitemap generator?

No, there are lots of them out there depending on how your site is designed. Are you looking for something that will generate an XML sitemap to submit to Google or a sitemap that would be visible and usable by visitors? Is your website based on a CMS system or strictly HTML files? Are you looking for a tool that will essentially spider your own site or something where you manually add pages? Depending on your hosting setup you might want a package that is PHP based or perhaps ASP based or Perl based depending on your server.

With this info I'm sure I or someone else can recommend something.

I found a script called sitemapper.pl that helped me generate a sitemap, but it's a bear on cpu and memory usage while it runs.

My site is based on a simple CMS system by Squarespace. And yes, I prefer a tool that will spider my own site as opposed to manually adding pages because the site has a blog to it and it'll be a pain to update blog entries and such.

I prefer both but it's also a matter of how easy it is to use the software. So, I'd say it's a matter of how easy it is to use the software. Perhaps, you can give me both choices that you have? Thanks.

For G sitemaps, try the tools mentioned in this thread:
