PHP proxy is, in my opinion, rubbish. Try using CGI proxy instead, many more features!

I want to use CGI.. but i heard that dreamhost will kick me if i use too much bandwith.. isnt php far less bandwith than cgi?

Well a proxy downloads all the data from a website, then send it to the user, so same amount of bandwidth no matter what the programming language. Also, cgi proxy provides proper support for forms etc, which is useful for Myspace. Dreamhost gives 2TB bandwidth / month, so running a proxy there is entirely possible ;)

php is using the most bandwith, extremely much more than cgi. cgi is using a lot of server resources, to much for a normal server.
Are you shure dreamhost will host your proxy at all ? I dont think so, when they find out they will kick you off.

As long as php isn't requesting the page multiple times or something silly, surely it will use the same bandwidth? And with Dreamhost, as long as you don't adversely affect other users on your shared server, you can do what you like.

No, its not a dissaster to get thrown of dreamhost hehe. But its a dissater when you loose the 500 uniques a day because the server is down and you have to work from scratch again. You will know what I mean when you are there :)
